Happy Holidays!
Posted by Morgan YorkMerry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Happy Kwanzaa/Happy Platypus Day/Happy whatever the hell you celebrate. I hope everyone had a safe, fun holiday and that they got awesome presents (and even if you didn’t, I hope you were with awesome people and enjoyed your holidays, anyway). Now, to list my lovely presents that I got from my fantastic family!
-Snow Leopard for Mac (which I wanted so I could play Sims 3, but I apparently have an unsupported video card for it, and if you’ve followed me on Twitter you have witnessed my mounting frustration concerning this. Ah, well, the world’s not going to explode)
-The perfect writer’s necklace: an “M” key from an actual vintage typewriter that hangs on a chain
-A Pillow Pet (they kick ass)
-500 Days of Summer soundtrack (beautiful)
-A street sign looking thing that says “Writer Drive”. It now hangs above my writing station
-A purple scarf
-A green shirt with a panda on it, and the panda has a thought bubble, and in the thought bubble is another panda. I interpret this to mean that the panda is escaping to another world, not into a fantasy but into another reality very similar to its own world, which is what I do all the time when I write. Or it’s just a weird shirt.
-A purple shirt
-Candy (including Ghiradelli chocolate squares with peanut butter in them. Holy shit.)
-A John Lennon shirt that says War Is Over, which I’m wearing now
-A Paramore poster
-A Paramore shirt
-A Paramore jacket that I’m also wearing now
-Six books, including:
-The Lovely Bones (on page one hundred something)
-Slaughterhouse Five
-Lolita
-Mrs. Dalloway
-Beloved
-A Passage to India
-A wonderful photo album from my sister Wendy, which she titled “Our Adventure Book” (like in the movie Up) and put at the end on a post it note: “Stuff we’re going to do”. The rest of the album is empty.
-A heart shaped locket with a note in it
-iTunes gift card
-An Edward Scissorhands shirt
-Harry Potter and the HBP on DVD
Don’t I have the greatest family? Plus I still have another Christmas coming up on my dad’s side of the family. Again, I hope you all had wonderful holidays!
