1) Why did you stop acting? Will you ever act again?

I stopped acting for many reasons, but they are best summarized in posts from my old Wordpress blog (this post and this post), as well as this TikTok. As for the second question, I doubt I will return to film or TV. I’ve got a lot going on–I’m writing, working a full-time job, raising my daughter, and more. However, I have been acting as Tabby Winters in the narrative horror podcast I write for, Halfmoon Chronicles.

2) Are you in touch with any of your former castmates?

I’m in touch with several of them online. We don’t talk often, but I’m always happy to interact with them when the occasion arises. Most of the people in my life are family members/loved ones, people I attended school with, and other friends made outside acting.

3) Where/when can I buy your books?

Answered on my old Wordpress blog here.

4) What writing projects are you working on?

Thank you so much for your interest! I’m currently working on various fiction projects, including writing episodes for the narrative horror podcast Halfmoon Chronicles.

5) I have writing/publishing advice for you. Is that welcome?

Probably not. Here’s why (from my old Wordpress blog).

6) You say you’re a Twitch streamer. What is that/what is Twitch?

Twitch is a website that allows users to livestream something of their choosing (usually video games, but sometimes activities such as cooking, art, etc.).

7) What is the meaning behind your Twitch username?

“Tolstoyce” combines the last names of my favorite classic authors, Leo Tolstoy and James Joyce.

8) How can I get into acting?

Unfortunately, I’m a terrible person to ask, since I got into the business thanks to a connection:  my dad was friends with a casting director who arranged for me to audition with an agency. If you’re an actor trying to land your big break, best of luck to you!

9) Can we chat privately over e-mail?

I wouldn’t feel comfortable if you’re a stranger. There’s an imbalance–you know more about me than I do about you, because you’ve seen me in a movie/TV, but I’ve never seen you before. I do have a link to a contact form above, but that is for business inquiries only.

Note: I don’t DM people I don’t know over Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, or Discord for the same reasons I won’t give out my e-mail.

10) What social media sites are you on?

These days, I’m only really active on Instagram, track my reading on GoodReads, and occasionally stream on Twitch. Here are my only other public accounts, which I rarely (if ever) update: old Wordpress blogTwitterThreads, YouTubeFacebook, TikTok, and Tumblr.

11) Will you look at my writing?

Are you a friend of mine? If you are and I have the time to commit to it, I’d be happy to beta read your novel or whatever it is you want looked at. If you’re my friend, though, you probably know me well enough to just ask me directly.

If you aren’t a friend of mine, I don’t have time to dedicate to an unpaid reading of your work, and I don’t offer paid reading services.

Please do not use my contact form to send me materials.

12) Will you follow me on social media?

When I joined Twitter, I followed back everyone who asked. I thought, “Why don’t more people do this? It’s a nice thing to do!” I quickly learned why. The more people I followed back, the more cluttered my newsfeed became with things I wasn’t interested in. Soon, I realized scrolling through my feed had become a chore. I will now only follow people if they’re generating content I’m interested in seeing. This doesn’t mean the people I unfollowed weren’t saying delightful things in their own right–they just didn’t align with my interests and it made no sense for me to follow them.
